LANDSLIDE activities will be carried out through three action phases:
Development of the Landslide Hazard Assessment Model and Software:
The first action phase concerns the very development of the Landslide Hazard Assessment Model and Software, the selection of 4 hydrographic basins (test sites) and the creation of a common framework for correct adaptation and fine-tuning of the model to the four selected test areas.
Pilot implementation:
In the second phase the partners involved in the pilot phase will test and use the model and software within their daily risk mapping and assessment activities. This will be preceded by a training course for the civil protection staff of the test sites involved. During the pilot phase a help desk will also be established to support partners in correctly using and applying the model and software.
A sustainable approach to risk prevention:
In the third phase “local cross-sector risk prevention platforms” will be established in each pilot territory to involve other relevant services and sectors concerned (agriculture, urban, etc.) to share the new risk maps, inform about risk scenarios and to make risk prevention part of development policies and plans cross-sectors.
A series of awareness raising events (prevention days) will finally also be carried out to make people, directly concerned (residents, land-owners, farmers, industry, etc.) by the identified risk, engage in risk prevention activities.
