On 10th November 2016 the LANDSLIDE project has had its final conference in Patras, Greece, organized by the partner National Observatory of Athens as hosts. The conference had in its agenda invited researchers, who work on the Panagoupula landslide and other project partners had their invited speakers. Local authorities and media were present, interested of the final results and tools developed as project deliverables. On 11th November 2016 Panagoupula landslide had been visited by the invited speakers and project partners. All performed work during the LANDSLIDE project lifetime had been shown.
Ist LANDSLIDE prevention day – Bielsko- Biała District Office
Bielsko- Biała District Office, being a partner of international project of EC named: „Landslide risk assessment model for disaster prevention and mitigation”, is expected to organize the prevention days, which will help in understanding the risks posed by the possibility of landslides occurrence.
The first prevention day was carried out on August 13th 2016 in Bystra in the framework of Spartakiad attended by members of volunteer fire brigades of Bielsko- Biala District organized by the District itself and the Commission of Youth Firefighting Squads of Bielsko- Biała District. The event, which began at 3:00 p.m. with a brief characterization of the LANDSLIDE project, was attended by about 90 volunteer firefighters.
The firefighters were familiar with the main objectives of the project and the current stage of work progress within the project. In addition, each participant was trained with the regard to landslide issues, whereas special attention was paid to prevention and reaction when faced with the movements of earth.
At the end of the event, a short speech was delivered by the pjoject’s expert Jacek Gancarczyk – an employee of Czernichów Commune Office. He told the participants about the practical actions that were taken during the strong movements of land masses being a result of the heavy rainfall in Międzybrodzie Bialskie in 2010, when there became active a landslide causing geological subsidence and destruction of about 117 chalets within the housing estate ‘Laski”.

Training of Civil Protection staff in the region of Smolyan, Bulgaria
On the 21 June 2016 a training course took place in the building of the , with the participation of 10 people from the civil protection department in the region of Smolyan, Bulgaria to analyse and test the Training Platform and the Landslide Hazard Assessment Model and Software.
Next SC-meeting of the Landslide project will take place on the 27-28 June 2016 in Poland (Bielsko-Biala).
In the framework of this meeting, a transnational exchange and peer-review session among partners and some invited European experts and guests, will take place. The aim of the session is to exchange experience and good practices with regards cross-sectorial stakeholder involvement in risk prevention and risk reduction.

Exchange meeting and 3rd SC – meeting has been held on 25th February 2016 in Smolyan, Bulgaria
The 3rd SC-meeting of the Landslide project has been held on the 25 February 2016 in the city of Smolyan, Bulgaria. In the framework of this meeting, an exchange session with partners and special invited stakeholders and experts took place. Landslide project activities and Landslide risk evaluation methods and approaches in general have been open for a round table discussion between the invited experts and the project partners. The title of this part of the meeting sessions was: “Technical and political challenges for data acquisition: key for correct risk evaluation”.
